The research dealt with the subject of ‘Prophethood & Book Inheritance’ in the wide concept of the word (inheritance) in the Holy Quran and in the language of Arabs. ‘Inheritance’ word expanded its indications to exceed the material meaning to the moral ones, to include many meanings as the ‘Inheritance’ of Knowledge, Book, Prophethood and Bonus.
Based on this broad meaning, Inheritance’s topics and details were researched. In the introduction to the study of the subject, the researcher presented the word (inheritance) in its linguistic origin, then traced what was mentioned for this noble word with its inflections and derivations in the Holy Qur’an. Then, he stood on the context of the word and its noble and sublime meanings. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach.
With regard to the rest of the three topics, they focused on (Inheritance of Prophethood) as a God-given and a divine gift to keep humanity in touch with the revelation, and (Inheritance of the Book) as a heavy trust, and a heavy responsibility related to the Book, governance, and succession. It is at the same time selection and choice, so this kind of dignified Inheritance is not acquired solely by sex, race and descent. Consequently, there is no value other than knowledge, action and work under this great trust.
