Abstract

The study is aimed to find out the impact of work pressure as an intermediary variable between leadership skills and hidden costs. The study adopts the descriptive analytical approach, and uses the questionnaire for data collection. The population of the study is (196) male and female employees in the University of Saba Region. (160) questionnaires were distributed, of which (126) were returned and valid for analysis, which made (78.75%) of the total questionnaires. The study results reveal that leadership skills and work pressure scored a high degree, and hidden costs scored a medium degree that tended to decrease. There is no relationship and effect between leadership skills and hidden costs, and there is no relationship and impact of the variables leadership skills and work pressure on the hidden costs. Further, there is a relationship and a weak negative impact between leadership skills and work pressure; and a weak positive relationship and impact between work pressures and hidden costs. Work pressure does not influence the relationship between leadership skills and hidden costs. The study recommends paying attention to improving the working conditions at the university and time management for the employees; encouraging the optimal use of time; raising the level of safety measures in the rooms, halls and buildings of the university; conducting training programs for employees to improve the performance of their work and tasks in an appropriate manner; and conducting more studies related to human behaviors and their relationship to the occurrence of hidden costs.
