Abstract

This study aims to build a measurement for the counseling needs for the students of University of Saba Region, and to determine the academic, psychological, professional and social counseling needs for the students of the University. It aims to find out the statistically significant differences among the fields of counseling needs according to the gender variable and the college variable. The researcher prepared a measurement of counseling needs. It consisted of (55) items in its final form. The measurement was distributed on four areas: academic, psychological, professional, and social. The scale was applied to a random stratified sample of (445) male and female students. These students were selected from the research community. The researcher used the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) to analyze sample data. The researcher found the following:
-The vocational counseling needs were the most required by the students among the other counseling needs, followed by psychological, social, and academic counseling needs.
-There are no statistically significant differences in the fields of counseling needs according to the gender variable.
-There are statistically significant differences according to the variable of the college in favor of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences regarding the academic, psychological and professional counseling needs in favor of the Faculty of Law in social counseling needs. The researcher recommended appointing a faculty member to carry out the task of professional, psychological and academic counseling for each Faculty.
