Abstract

The study is aimed to identify the societal fragmentation and its role in undermining the Yemeni State, as well as the associated fragmentation: political, economic and intellectual. It is undertaken to answer the following central question: What is fragmentation? And what is its impact on undermining the Yemeni State? It assumes that there is a statistically significant relationship between societal, political, economic and intellectual fragmentation and undermining the Yemeni State. The study uses both the descriptive analytical approach and the historical approach. The researcher uses a questionnaire to gather data. It is applied to a random sample of Yemeni academics and intellectuals. The study arrives at some important findings: societal fragmentation is a key factor in undermining the Yemeni State, and political, economic and intellectual fragmentation are also factors that undermine the Yemeni State. The study recommends that the focus should be on the human factor, as it is an essential factor in building or undermining the Yemeni State. It also recommends paying attention to the political aspect and political upbringing of generations to preserve the Yemeni state, paying attention to the national economy, considering the continuous conflict in Yemen as a conflict of resources in the first place, and paying attention to intellect and protecting it from deviation, since it is one of the factors that lead to undermining the Yemeni State.
