Abstract

This research is an analytical study on the topic: “Al-Kazrouni’s Comments on Al-Baydawi’s Tafsir (Lights of Revelation and Secrets of Interpretation) in Surat Al-Fatihah.” The study is aimed to show the position of Imam Al-Kazrouni among the exegetes and to point out his comments on Al-Baydawi’s Tafsir in Surat Al-Fatihah. The study, in the first section, is about the personal life of Al-Kazrouni. The second section is an explanation of the comments and the terms used by Al-Kazrouni. The third section is about Al-Kazrouni’s comments on Al-Baydawi’s Tafsir in Surat Al-Fatihah. The study arrives at important findings, among which is that Imam Al-Kazrouni was correct in the three issues (Baa in the Basmala, the Most Merciful, and the meaning of religion), for the reasons that we mentioned in their places. The study also recommends that the Holy Quran and Sunnah must be revived as main references, and recommends that researchers have to know the comments of Al-Kazerouni on Al-Baydawi’s Tafsir (Lights of Revelation and Secrets of Interpretation) in all Surahs of the Holy Quran.
